History of Shattered Coast

Overview

The Shattered Coast is a location on Venus in the Ishtar Sink area. It is an uncontrolled jungle holding the remains of a large Golden Age colony where many of the era's leading scientists worked. According to lore, the sea beside it boiled away and rose up to shatter the coast, destroying the colony. The location was originally called the "Devastated Coast."

Location

The Shattered Coast connects to the Headlands, Ishtar Academy and the Ishtar Cliffs. The Academy is located on the Shattered Coast. It is a public area with three patrol beacons and no listed public events.

Lore

The Vex prevent Guardians from approaching, and the Fallen refuse to return the site to humanity. Listed enemy factions are the House of Winter and Blood of Oryx; hostile races are the Fallen and Taken.

History

The Shattered Coast first appeared in Destiny and returned in Destiny 2 through its connection to The Taken King.
