History of Sparrow

Overview

Sparrows are single-occupant thrust bikes that Guardians use to cross long distances in Patrol zones. Each Guardian is issued one, stored aboard their Jumpship and summoned when needed. Sparrows are quick and durable, and they are a key way to explore planetary surfaces.

Unlocking

Sparrows become available after a Guardian completes the story mission A Guardian Rises.

Summoning

A Sparrow can be summoned at any Patrol destination while in a public space. The exceptions are the Dreadnaught and any Crucible map that does not allow vehicles.

Uses

• Patrol: Sparrows speed up travel across Patrol zones.
• Racing: Sparrows are required for the Sparrow Racing League, the game's dedicated racing activity. Racing Sparrows can be fitted with interchangeable Sparrow Horns, many of which come from Custom Horn Kits.

Controls

The boost is the primary propulsion, and brake is also available. The D-pad gives directional commands.

Acquisition

Most cosmetic Sparrows come from Eververse, Season Pass rewards, Triumphs, raids and dungeons, special offers, pre-order bonuses and seasonal events such as Solstice of Heroes, Festival of the Lost and Guardian Games. Many older Sparrows came from Bright Engrams.
