History of Spinning Up

Overview

Spinning Up is an Exotic trait on SUROS Regime, an Exotic Auto Rifle. Holding the trigger raises the rate of fire. The weapon starts at 600 RPM and ramps to 720 and then 900 RPM when hipfired, stepping up about every 12 bullets in sustained fire. Final blows while spun up add Special ammo progress.

The alternate weapon action swaps to Dual Speed Receiver, which slows the rate of fire in exchange for more damage per shot while aiming down sights. Only one of the two can be active at a time.

Notes

Sources give the ramp values but not the number of stages, and they do not give exact aim-down-sights numbers. Older Destiny 1 figures of 450 or 300 RPM circulated in community discussion; those are not Destiny 2 values.
