History of Star Chart

Overview

The Star Chart is the seasonal vendor machine of Season of Plunder, located in the H.E.L.M.. Destinypedia describes it as refurbished Eliksni spacefaring technology. It handles the season's Pirate Crew upgrade grid, Umbral Engram decoding, bounties and rank progression.

Savvy rank

The Star Chart levels up through Savvy reputation, earned from Ketchcrash and Expedition missions, bounties and seasonal challenges. Rank rewards include engrams, treasure maps, map fragments and buried treasures, without weekly limits.

Pirate Crew upgrades

There are 21 upgrades across three paths, each unlocked with Repute, a currency capped per week and earned from seasonal challenges and the weekly story.

• Quartermaster: unlocks the servitor Scur-V and armor focusing.
• Navigator: recruits the sniper Halsiks and enables weapon focusing.
• Swashbuckler: hires the Skiffblades crew and special rewards.

Crewmates give combat bonuses and can be promoted to First Mate. Guides recommend early upgrades that speed up activities, then guaranteed weapon and armor drops, and finally extra Umbral Energy.
