History of Stone Kite

Overview

Stone Kite is a Santa Monica, California-based world-building and transmedia studio co-founded by Bungie co-founder Jason Jones and author and game narrative developer Margaret Stohl. Stohl is the studio's CEO. The studio develops connected story worlds across media, bringing creators from fields such as games, comics, film, television, and books into development from the start.

One Zero One

The studio's inaugural property, One Zero One, is a science-fiction story about humanity facing annihilation by AI-driven robotic soldiers. It began with a four-part limited comic series; the first issue launched October 1, 2026, with further issues planned through early 2027. Stone Kite says the universe is intended to expand through additional formats.

Stone Kite's own site describes its headquarters as Santa Monica, California and presents One Zero One as its first universe. Game Informer reported the launch and the comic's initial release.
