History of Storm Hydra

The Storm Hydra is a Vex Hydra. Destinypedia lists it among the High-Value Targets on Io, alongside the Storm Minotaur, the Blighted Centurion and the Blighted Wizard.

Hydras are also among the Vex enemies in Spire Integration events, where Vex units teleport in and converge on the Conflux structure.
