History of Taken Heat-Drinker

The Taken Heat-Drinker is a massive Taken of the Ultra rank that leads a force of its kin, drawn to the Bonfire in the European Aerial Zone. It appears as an Ogre, a Captain and a Centurion.

Bonfire Bash

The Heat-Drinker Ogre is the final boss of Bonfire Bash in the 2022 Solstice event. It stands in a pool of Taken matter that drains player health and constantly summons reinforcements. It has no special defense beyond high health, so the advice is to use your strongest abilities to finish it quickly.

Sources differ on the trigger. Destinypedia says the Ogre arrives when the timer runs out or the fireteam stokes the flames twenty times. A 2024 guide from TheGamer says the boss fight starts when the timer expires or the team dunks 30 orbs, whichever comes first.

Later Solstices

When Bonfire Bash returned in 2023, the Captain variant appeared against Fallen and the Centurion variant against Cabal. The Taken Ogre remained the boss of the Hive version.
