Taniks, the Abomination is the final boss of the Deep Stone Crypt raid, released with Destiny 2: Beyond Light on November 21, 2020. After the Morning Star crashed on Europa, he grafted his torso to a Heavy Shank with nuclear cores. He fights twice in the raid: first as Taniks, Reborn during the Descent, then as the Abomination.
Encounter
Damaging Taniks's booster jets or thrusters makes him vulnerable and drops nuclear cores. Each core is carried to a deposit bin that a Scanner identifies, and passed between players because radiation stacks on each carrier. An Operator frees players trapped in purple spheres before the radiation becomes lethal. A Suppressor stuns Taniks to take the deposit bins offline, which is a key step in the encounter. After enough cores are deposited, the damage phase begins: stand in the gap between the debris ring and the electrified ring, because the debris kills on contact.
Taniks enrages after several damage phases and teleports around the crash site in the final stand. Sources differ on the exact core count and stun positions, so check a current guide for the version you are running.
Rewards
The raid's exotic rocket launcher, Eyes of Tomorrow, is among its rewards. Spoils of War from the final chest buy raid gear and weapons.
