History of The Arrival (triumph)

Overview

"The Arrival" is a Destiny 2 triumph awarded for completing the eponymous mission on any difficulty. The mission serves as the introductory activity for the The Witch Queen expansion, set on the planet Mars. It chronicles the sudden reappearance of Mars and the arrival of Savathûn aboard her ship, The Lure. Completing this triumph grants 15 triumph score.

How to complete

To earn this triumph, the player must complete the "The Arrival" mission. The mission begins with the Guardian joining Ikora Rey and Eris Morn at the Crucible-adjacent operations near the Cradle of Shadows. The objective is to locate Savathûn and infiltrate her vessel.

The gameplay involves navigating through Mars to find a path onto The Lure. This requires defeating Cabal forces to secure Fuel Cannisters and Fusion Cells. The player must use these items to open fuel lines and activate generators for a massive Cabal cannon. After acquiring override codes from Imperial Engineers, the player activates a munitions lift and adjusts the cannon's trajectory.

The Guardian is then launched via the cannon to the entrance of The Lure. Inside the ship, the player must traverse through areas containing Lucent Hive enemies and Lucent Moths. The path involves defeating Tribute Bearers to open gates and navigating around obstacles to reach the control room. The mission concludes when the player defeats Savathûn and claims the reward. The mission playlist version ends when the player touches the Ascendant Portal on The Lure.
