History of The Festering Core

Overview

The Festering Core is a 1-3 player Strike inside the Pyramidion on Io (Echo Mesa), launched with Destiny 2: Shadowkeep on October 1, 2019 at 750 Power. It is a Vex processing sphere being infested by Taken.

Encounters

Shuttered Mind, then Taken commanders (Logath, Juraag, Zebios, Vazimos), ending with Baurisk, Envoy of Savathûn, a mobile Taken Incendior using a Cabal Magma Launcher.

Status

Sunset into the Content Vault with Destiny 2: Beyond Light on November 10, 2020, so it was in the game just over a year, the shortest strike lifespan before vaulting. A bug where the objective changed mid-strike and blocked the boss is noted by the community wiki.
