Overview
The Seething Heart is the named opening quest step/item in the Darkness in the Light chain for Malfeasance. It is a Forsaken-era record. The launch-era route depended on a particular Gambit Primeval; later guides describe the quest start differently, so the old boss spawn should not be presented as a current guarantee.
Walkthrough
- Historical Season 4 route: play Gambit until the Ascendant Primeval Servitor appeared, defeat it, and take the Seething Heart to The Drifter in the Tower. Contemporary 2018 guides identify this as the original quest trigger.
- Later documented route: Shacknews's July 2024 guide says the quest was then unlocked by defeating a Taken Primeval in Gambit, replacing the rare Servitor requirement. Check the current Drifter quest list and in-game objective for the route now in effect.
Rewards
- Starts the Darkness in the Light quest chain; the chain ultimately awards Malfeasance.
