History of The Shield

Overview

The Shield is a Triumph in Destiny 2. It requires the player to eliminate an opponent who has previously damaged a teammate. The associated medal records each qualifying elimination.

How to complete

To earn the Medal for this triumph, the player must participate in a match where an enemy combatant inflicts damage on an allied player. Following this event, the player must secure the elimination of that specific opponent. The triumph tracks the total number of times this specific sequence of events occurs, contributing to the "Medals earned" objective.

Trials tactics

This record belongs to the Trials of Osiris medals category of the Crucible. Stay close enough to support your teammates and focus the opponent who has just hit one of them. Finish that opponent yourself; an unrelated kill elsewhere does not meet the stated condition. Use cover to trade damage safely instead of waiting for your teammate to be eliminated. The separate The Sword medal concerns an opponent who has already killed a teammate.
