Before her augmentation, Mikaela was an ordinary citizen who married and had a daughter named Amma. An accident infused her with a colony of nanites, granting her extraordinary strength, endurance, and regeneration. She became a renowned hero for protecting her city.

However, the nanotechnological augments caused microscarring across her kidneys, heart, liver, spleen, and brain. Seven years after augmentation, she was informed she had less than a year to live. Before her death, she created the Sidereal, a device allowing other Neomuni to receive similar augments voluntarily, sacrificing longevity to serve as protectors. Mikaela became known as "The Strider," the first in a line of augmented defenders. The character is voiced by Andromeda Dunker.
