History of Throwing Knife

A Throwing Knife is a Hunter melee ability used by the Gunslinger subclass. Gunslinger’s Solar melee options include Lightweight Knife, Weighted Knife, and Knife Trick, with different effects. A May 1, 2025 preview announced a tracking adjustment across Throwing Knife melee abilities. The tracking fix shipped in Update 8.2.6 (May 6, 2025), which also increased Lightweight Knife’s tracking shape and strength. Update 9.5.0 (December 2025) separately increased Lightweight Knife’s critical-hit multiplier. The exact options and tuning are patch-dependent.
