History of Titan

Titan is Saturn's largest moon and a destination in Destiny 2. For the Guardian class, see Titan (class).

Overview

A methane ocean world; in the Golden Age it held cities such as the New Pacific Arcology, all lost in the Collapse. A Hive brood later colonised the ruins, and Guardians fleeing in the Red War met Hive and Fallen there. The Black Fleet took it in Season of Arrivals; it has since returned with Deputy Commander Sloane stationed there.

Destinypedia gives Titan a diameter of 5,150 km, a surface temperature of about -179 C and gravity of 0.14 g. The Collapse struck it with gravitational anomalies and catastrophic tidal waves, and Rasputin's TWILIGHT EXIGENT protocol killed the surviving civilians.

How to get there

Destinypedia says Titan vanished in Season of Arrivals and reappeared in Season of the Deep.

Regions

Landing zones Siren's Watch and The Rig; the New Pacific Arcology is the largest Golden Age structure, heavily Hive-infested.

Activities

Three Lost Sectors: Methane Flush (Siren's Watch), Cargo Bay 3 and DS Quarters-2 (The Rig, near a Wizard Heroic public event). Deep Six is a Gambit map set here. In Season of the Deep (23 May to 22 August 2023, Destiny 2: Lightfall annual pass) the activities were Salvage (recovering Golden Age technology from sunken structures) and Deep Dive missions, built around Sloane's bond with the ancient sea creature Ahsa, per Destinypedia.

History

Present at launch (Wikipedia lists it among the original destinations). Destiny 2: Beyond Light placed it in the Destiny Content Vault on 10 November 2020 along with Io, Mars, Mercury and the Leviathan, because content had reached about 115 GB. Season of the Deep brought it back as a seasonal destination. Season of Arrivals ran 9 June to 9 November 2020 per Destinypedia; the Black Fleet visit there pre-dates the vault. Current availability should be checked in game; these sources are dated.
