History of Unburied Treasure

Overview

Unburied Treasure is a Season of Plunder triumph for collecting Plundered Umbral Energy from bonus buried treasure in Expedition. It belongs to the season’s Ritual → Quests category. The bonus treasure, rather than merely the ordinary completion chest, provides the qualifying energy.

Original completion

1. Earn Map Fragments from Ketchcrash and Treasure Coordinates from playlist activities. Combine them in the Captain’s Atlas to restore a Treasure Map.
2. Complete an Expedition: gather the treasure, escort the haul, and defeat the final enemies.
3. After the activity, use the restored Treasure Map at a buried-treasure mound marked with an Eliksni symbol. Dig up its bonus chest and collect the Plundered Umbral Energy.
4. Restore another map before the next run and repeat the bonus digs to advance the triumph’s tiers. Spending the energy on focusing was a separate action and did not replace collecting it from this source.

Availability and reward

The original Season of Plunder route retired with Destiny 2: Lightfall on 28 February 2023. Its five score tiers totalled 15 Triumph Score; bonus treasure also awarded its normal activity loot.
