History of Upgrade Modules

Revision 24103 by archivist at 2026-10-10 09:03:33

Overview

Upgrade Modules are consumables added in Destiny 2: Shadowkeep. They let weaker weapons and armor take on the power level of a stronger item. Infusion is limited to the same equip slot, and for armor the same class, so a power weapon cannot infuse a primary weapon.

Acquisition

  • Banshee-44 and Ada-1 sell them in The Tower. Ada-1 is in the western half, north of the Annex landing zone. Banshee-44 is in the eastern half, between Master Rahool and Lord Shaxx.
  • Reported prices differ between sources. One lists 1 Enhancement Core and 5,000 Glimmer per module. Another also lists 10 Legendary Shards and 25 Planetary Materials.
  • The Spider sells them in a random daily deal.
  • Ranking up with Banshee-44, Commander Zavala, Saint-14, Lord Shaxx or The Drifter grants modules. Some ranks require a reset first.
  • The Season Pass grants modules as you level. Some are free, others need the current pass or the Annual Pass upgrade.
  • Bosses can drop them after a Finest Matterweave is consumed. Event cards can award them during Guardian Games, Solstice, Festival of the Lost and The Dawning.
  • You can hold a maximum of 25.

Current status

In Update 9.0.0.1, released with Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate, infusion began using Enhancement Cores directly, which left Upgrade Modules effectively useless. They can now be dismantled for one Enhancement Core.
