History of Vox Obscura (Master)

Overview

Vox Obscura (Master) is the historical Master difficulty of the Vox Obscura Exotic Mission on Mars. Its original Season of the Risen requirement was 1580 Power; sources that report 1600 reflect a later power-scale change, not a separate encounter. Master added Barrier Champions to the Unstoppable Champions, as well as Pestilence (defeated Psions spawn Void grenades), locked equipment, Match Game, Solar/Void shields, and disabled radar.

Walkthrough

Master uses the same three major sections as the base mission: clear the hangar and take an Interceptor; destroy the Goliath tank and then use the Drake tank to destroy the two remaining tanks and three shielded signal towers before the timer; then clear the timed bunker route. In the bunker, defeat three shielded Psion Codewardens with melee attacks to remove their shields, then hack the terminals. Master adds Barrier Champions on this route. During the final Qabix fight, defeat the Psion Commanders when they spawn to remove his immunity shield and resume damage.

Master originally awarded the Dead Messenger catalyst through the follow-up Vox Revelata quest. The activity was vaulted in 2023, returned in the Exotic Mission rotator in 2023, and entered the vault again with Episode: The Final Shape's removal in June 2025; current access and reward rules may differ.
