Warlord's Ruin (triumph)

Overview

Warlord's Ruin is a triumph associated with the Warlord's Ruin dungeon. The objective is to "Uncover buried histories and lingering grudges within a ruined Dark Age castle." Completing this triumph grants no explicit rewards or score.

How to complete

To complete the triumph, Guardians must venture into the Warlord's Ruin dungeon located in the European Dead Zone. The dungeon was released on December 1st, 2023, during Season of the Wish.

The process begins at the Windswept Crag, where players traverse mountainous cliffs to reach the ancient castle outpost. The first encounter involves defeating Rathil, First Broken Knight of Fikrul. This fight introduces the Imminent Wish and Blighted Eye mechanics. Players must cleanse corrupted Ether Totems using the Imminent Wish buff. Afterward, players must shoot the Blighted Eyes surrounding their elevated cages to escape. Cleansing totems grants the Naeem's Wish Empowerment buff, allowing damage to Rathil. Following Rathil's defeat, Hefnd's Vengeance, Blighted Chimaera, appears and teleports players to a prison cell.

In the prison, players must shoot circular nodes to unlock doors. These nodes spin counterclockwise when first shot and clockwise when shot twice. The required direction for each node is indicated by tally marks next to skeletons found in two of the cells. A glowing switch at the lock of one cell must be shot to open all doors.

After escaping, players navigate the castle undercroft, avoiding spike traps and pits. They proceed up a snowy peak, dodging loose rocks and attacks from the Blighted Chimaera. Players must enter a sewer drain to reach the castle bailey. Here, they defeat the Locus of Wailing Grief, a Taken Ogre. This encounter requires shooting Blighted Eyes to spawn Broken Knights, who drop Ether Totems. Players must cleanse these totems while managing the Biting Cold debuff by seeking shelter from the storm at torches. Finally, players must cleanse the Keep of corruption to complete the dungeon and the triumph.
