History of Wave Frame

Wave Frame is an intrinsic archetype of Grenade Launcher weapons: a one-shot handheld launcher whose projectile releases a linear wave of energy when it contacts the ground, similar to a Thermite grenade.

Use

Wave Frame launchers are aimed at the ground in front of enemies and are very effective at clearing groups of lower-tier enemies. Heavy-slot "compressed wave frame" variants behave similarly and are used on bosses.

Notable weapons

Martyr's Retribution was the first Wave Frame grenade launcher in Destiny's history and the Destiny 2 Wiki lists it as the example; others include Forbearance, Explosive Personality and Deafening Whisper (per Sportskeeda-indexed search results).
