Zo'aurc, Explicator of Planets

Overview

Zo'aurc, Explicator of Planets is the boss of the Macrocosm, the third encounter of the Root of Nightmares raid. The fight takes place in the Essence Pyramid.

Phases

The first phase is planet alignment. Two Solar-shielded Centurions spawn first. Defeating a Terrestrial Lieutenant Colossus grants the Planetary Insight buff, which reveals mismatched planets, and fireteam members pair up to swap planets across the room.

In the plate phase, killing Lieutenants reveals which central plate needs Light or Darkness, and Guardians move matching planets onto those plates. A mismatch causes a planetary collision that wipes the fireteam.

In the damage phase, touching a plate that matches Zo'aurc's aura grants Field of Light or Flux of Darkness, which allows damage from anywhere. A flame twister flips the shield alignment, so the team has to switch to the opposite plate type. Once all three plates are used, Zo'aurc becomes immune and the cycle repeats until a final nonstop damage phase.
