Altar of Reflection: Choice

Overview

Altar of Reflection: Choice is one of four Altars of Reflection activities in Savathûn's Throne World, added with Destiny 2: The Witch Queen. The in-game description says: revisit the memory linked to the crystal shard. The entry point is deep within the Metamorphosis Lost Sector. It is a Story-type activity that can be played during and after the campaign; the four altars rotate in the director.

Encounters and mechanics

Each altar follows the same pattern: solve a rune puzzle (either a Rune Pattern puzzle, where you shoot the columns whose runes do not match the rest, or a Cursed Pool puzzle, where you stand under the matching symbols), defeat a group of Lucent Hive including a Lightbearer Hive Archivist and an Ultra, then interact with the altar to view a memory fragment of Savathûn. The puzzle type was not confirmed for this altar in the sources opened.

Rewards

Per mein-mmo, the weekly altar quests grant Powerful gear; the rest of the reward details were not confirmed in the sources opened. Sources describe the memory itself as the main payoff for the story.

Notes

Sources disagree slightly on which altar uses which puzzle type, so treat puzzle assignments as unconfirmed. See Altars of Reflection for the series.
