Assimilated Torch Hammer

The Assimilated Torch Hammer is a Vex weapon commonly wielded by Minotaurs, and it is the specimen for the NES006 quest, the sixth Specimen ID quest in Episode: Echoes. Failsafe gives the quest, and the specimen is found on Nessus. The hammer's energy signature is fragmentary, and it has been experimented on repeatedly.

The Assimilated Demolisher Minotaur, a Vex Minotaur of the Nessian Schism, uses a Torch Hammer on Nessus patrols and a Vex Laser Rifle in Battleground: Delve. It first appeared in Episode: Echoes.

Quest

The quest has five steps: earn 150 Sidearm or Auto Rifle final blows, earn 200 Arc or Solar final blows, earn 100 Orbs of Power in Crucible or Gambit, speak with Failsafe in the H.E.L.M., and place the Assimilated Torch Hammer in the H.E.L.M. specimen display.

Rewards

Completing the second step unlocks the Data-Formatting Keys, which open additional engrams from Echo chests. Completing the third step unlocks the Combat Protocol Override, which detects high-value targets in Echoes Battlegrounds and rewards defeating them.

Acquisition

The Assimilated Torch Hammer is tied to the NES006 specimen quest. In June 2026, Monument of Triumph restored the Watcher's Grave conflux on Nessus, so an Assimilated Beacon can be deposited there to summon larger Assimilated bosses repeatedly.
