Confluxes
Overview
In the Vault of Glass raid, confluxes are the bulky, altar-like Vex constructs that serve as the encounter's sacrifice points, unlike the pillar-shaped terminals found in story missions. Vex kneel before a conflux and are absorbed into it in a flash of white energy, adding material to the structure. Players defend the confluxes rather than destroy them, because a conflux that completes lets the Vex write opponents out of time. The Vex enemies that sacrifice themselves to one are what cause a team to fail.
Stages
- '''Original Vault of Glass (2014)''': in Trial of Kabr (Templar's Well stage), confluxes appear one at a time until all three are up, and each allows four sacrifices before the mission fails. In the Awaken the Glass Throne stage, a conflux forms in the room after the first Relic is retrieved.
- '''Destiny 2 reprise (2021)''': the same sacrifice mechanic, with some differences, such as Wyverns triggering wipes at the confluxes.
The final boss, Atheon, is named "Time's Conflux", but the encounter has no separate conflux mechanic.
