Corruption

Overview

Corruption is a damage-over-time effect in Destiny 2. Melee hits from Spirit of the Necrotic, an intrinsic perk on exotic Warlock class items introduced in Season 24, inflict it. Necrotic Grip, a Beyond Light Warlock exotic gauntlet, does the same through its perk Grasp of the Devourer, which inflicts potent corruption that deals increasing damage over time.

When an enemy dies from Necrotic Grip's corruption, the poison spreads to a nearby enemy. Corruption is commonly paired with Weapons of Sorrow such as Thorn and Osteo Striga.

Some wiki sources describe Corruption as a fan-created element rather than an official one, and the in-game use is limited to the perks above.
