Cull's Shadow

Cull's Shadow is a Kinetic Exotic Fusion Rifle designed to play like a Glaive, with frontal blades. It is the reward for the secret Exotic mission Oblation: Bloodline on the Moon.

Overview

• Archetype: Fusion Rifle with a glaive-like melee/blade play pattern.
• Soulburn: final blows or rapid hits with the frontal blades heal you and grant Soulfire Charges.
• Soulforge: defeated corrupted targets create detonating soulfire crystals.
• Lore: Teben Grey's quote in the flavor text ties it to the death of Cull.

Acquisition

1. Obtain a Weapon of Sorrow (Thorn, Osteo Striga, Touch of Malice or Necrochasm); Thorn is the easiest, purchasable from the Monument to Lost Lights in the Tower.
2. Start The Scarlet Keep strike on the Moon, skip the fight with Hashladun, Daughter of Crota and use the Weapon of Sorrow to shoot the matching symbol on the locked gate behind her. Investigate the Hive object to the right, then finish the strike.
3. Visit four Moon locations, each with a dead Totality Legionary to investigate, and use the Weapon of Sorrow on the Hive runes or symbols at the locked doors: Anchor of Light (Temple of Crota, shoot the runes top to bottom), Archer's Line (Shrine of Oryx), Hellmouth (Chamber of Night) and Sorrow's Harbor (K1 Revelations, where you examine a Syndicate trooper).
4. Complete the above to unlock Oblation: Bloodline. Completing it rewards the weapon.

Catalyst

Four catalysts, unlocked by progressing the Oblation mission series (you do not need to finish the missions in one sitting): Soulfire Succor (destroying soulfire crystals with the blades grants charges and partially reloads from reserves; earned by interacting with the tome in Oblation: Soulfed), Soulfire Rancor (defeat the bosses of Oblation: Soulfed; crystals auto-detonate when a target is close), Soulfire Zeal (unlocking Oblation: Immolation at the end of Soulfed; damage resistance and speed) and Soulfire Skewer (end of the third mission; blades inflict corruption).
