Data Retrieval: Aberrant Subject

Overview

Data Retrieval: Aberrant Subject is a Triumph that requires opening the hidden Aberrant Subject data chest in the node.ovrd.AVALON Vexcalibur exotic mission. Completing it awards 10 score.

How to complete

The chest only spawns after you have unlocked Vexcalibur and completed the two Legendary quests from the War Table after the Season of Defiance campaign: Vexcalibur Authorization Override and Vexcalibur Expert Authorization Override. Some chests will not spawn without them.

1. Go through the slim gap in the mission and slide down toward the Asher Mir hologram.
2. Drop down the large shaft and activate the node on the ledge halfway down. If you miss it, climb back up using the walls and platforms.
3. Drop into the cylindrical room and walk toward the Hobgoblin trapped behind a Vex barrier.
4. Look behind and above you for a second node and activate it. The barrier drops, the Hobgoblin despawns and the chest appears where it was.

Tip: the Aberrant Subject chest comes shortly after the Substrate chest near the start of the mission.
