Death at First Glance

Overview

Death at First Glance is a Legendary Trait from Season 8. It gives bonus damage when aiming down sights on the opening shot of an attack. The bonus carries over if that shot is a precision hit or hits an elemental shield.

It is a single-weapon trait on Eriana's Vow. Reported rarity varies between Legendary and Common.

Behaviour

Barrier shields do not count as elemental shields for this perk. A precision hit through a barrier can still carry the bonus to the next shot. Unscoping keeps the bonus, so it can be rescoped for a full-damage shot later.

Acquisition

Eriana's Vow was introduced in Season of the Undying, awarded at rank 35 of the free season pass track or rank 1 of the premium track. It was later sold by Master Rahool in Season of Arrivals and is acquirable from the Monument to Lost Lights in Beyond Light.
