Defenses Down

Overview

Defenses Down is a Triumph in Destiny 2 worth 10 points. It is earned in the Exhibition encounter of the Vow of the Disciple raid, known as The Upended.

How to complete

The encounter has seven Taken Knights, called Disciple's Hourglasses, spread across four stages: one in the first room and two in each of the next three areas. The rule is that no fireteam member may kill more than one of them, and at least one must be left alive.

1. Kill the first Knight in the first room. This one is effectively required.
2. In the second room, leave one Knight alive so the team is not forced into a second kill. Once that room is cleared, the remaining Knights can be killed freely.
3. Pass the laser artifact after each kill. The carrier drops it so a teammate who has not killed a Knight yet can pick it up.
4. After the carrier kills a Knight, they face a 30-second timer during which they cannot pick up another artifact. Decide who picks it up next before the kill.
5. Track each player's kill count, and make sure every player knows the one-kill rule before the first room.

Tip: assign each player a number and call out which Knight will be left alive before the encounter starts, so no one accidentally takes a second kill.

Rewards

Completing the Exhibition gives an extra chest at the end, in addition to the triumph.
