Destiny: Rise of Iron

Overview

Destiny: Rise of Iron is the fourth and final expansion for the first Destiny game. It was released on September 20, 2016 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and began the game's third year. It was not released on PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360.

Story

The expansion is set on Earth. The Fallen have broken through the Wall protecting humanity's last safe city, and the Fallen Devil Splicers use SIVA, a self-replicating Golden Age nanotechnology, to turn themselves into cyborgs. Lord Saladin, the last known Iron Lord, trains the Guardian to become a new generation of Iron Lords.

Players explore a new Plaguelands zone, revisit parts of the Cosmodrome and visit the Iron Temple on Felwinter Peak. The Guardian destroys the SIVA source in a tomb in the Plaguelands, then infiltrates the Wall during the Wrath of the Machine raid to kill Aksis. Isirah makes her first appearance in this expansion.
