Dr. Wade Bow

Overview

Dr. Wade Bow is a human medical doctor assigned to the K1 project, the study of the K1 artifact (the Anomaly) on Luna. He is first mentioned in Shadowkeep and is also referenced in Season of the Lost.

Noetic Effects

Bow's findings are recorded in the Noetic Effects Recusal Mirror Record, filed from the K1 Dig Site 4 infirmary with Kuang Xuan, the commander of the crew. He reports that neurochemical effects grow more frequent and severe over time. About 80% of the K1 crew show intrusive thoughts, insomnia, narcolepsy and nightmares, and the worst cases include hallucinations. Bow recommended limiting direct exposure to 30 minutes a day and rotating teams between sites.

Tales of the Forgotten

Bow's private notes appear in Tales of the Forgotten Vol. 1, in Luna entries 2, 5 and 8. He experiences sleep paralysis and sees a 'solid shadow' with no visible face. Over time the figure takes his shape but has no head, and it later appears during the day. Bow begins losing track of time, and he comes to believe he knows what the shadow wants.
