Eclipse

Eclipse is an anti-Paracausal energy tied to the outer orbits of the Nine. It first appeared in Renegades, where it empowered the boss Premier Lume and drove a wipe mechanic.

In Destiny 2, Eclipse is associated with Distortions, the patrol enhancements added with Monument of Triumph. Enemies in a Distorted Destination glow red. Minor and Elite enemies gain slightly increased resilience and release a seeking bolt when defeated without a critical hit. Major and Ultra enemies gain an extra Overshield that leaves a patch of Hazardous Terrain when it breaks. Vehicles are not affected.
