Fear

Nightmare Hunt: Fear is one of the Nightmare Hunts released with Shadowkeep on the Moon, in which Guardians defeat the Nightmare of Phogoth, a Darkness-made copy of Phogoth, the Untamed, described as fear incarnate. Reports place it at the Summoning Pits; the route runs through the Hellmouth area, via the Gatehouse and the Circle of Bones.

Overview

Enemies are Hidden Swarm Hive (Thralls, Acolytes, Knights, Wizards, Ogres) and Nightmare variants. In the boss fight Phogoth becomes invulnerable periodically and summons reinforcements; shooting the tumor on its chest and fighting adds from cover helps. Eris Morn frames Phogoth as a creation of Crota's brood.

Rewards

Defeating the boss gives the Essence of Fear quest; completing it earns a piece of Dreambane armor, plus XP and random gear. Reports differ on player count: 1-3 in one account, three players in another.
