Gauntlet

Overview

The Gauntlet is a racing encounter in The Menagerie, the six-player activity introduced in Season of Opulence (later vaulted with Destiny 2: Beyond Light). It is modelled on the Gauntlet encounter of the Leviathan raid. Not to be confused with Gauntlets, the hand armor slot.

Mechanics

1. Kill the enemies in the central room until an Ultra boss appears; killing it teleports the whole team to a timed platforming course.
2. Cross the platforms and run through the round glowing checkpoints before time runs out.
3. A second Ultra then starts a harder run with flame jets that can kill quickly and trickier jumps; a third run completes the encounter.

All six players must finish each of the three runs. Emperor Calus comments on the race while you play.

Triumphs

• Chariots of Fire: all six players complete any lap together.
• Going the Distance: all six players complete every lap with a perfect score.

Notes

A reported exploit let a Guardian who died to a grenade launcher on the finish line count for several laps.
