History of Grandmaster: Sunless Cell

Overview

Grandmaster: Sunless Cell is a triumph in Destiny 2. It requires completing the Sunless Cell Nightfall on Grandmaster difficulty.

How to complete

1. Launch the Sunless Cell Nightfall on Grandmaster difficulty as the featured Nightfall.
2. Complete the strike at the Grandmaster difficulty to earn the triumph.
3. Check that the run is counted: in June 2025, players reported that a completed Sunless Cell Grandmaster Nightfall did not increase the "Total Conquest" counter, and suspected a bug. If a run does not register, report it through Bungie Help.

Tips

• A community guide covers the strike's strategy and rewards.

Status

Bungie's Update 9.7.0 patch notes deprecated Nightfall-related triumphs and metrics. Progress already earned was kept, but this triumph can no longer be earned. Grandmaster Nightfalls had already been removed as a standalone rotation with Update 9.0.0.1, when Nightfalls moved to a daily rotation, and Grandmaster now appears as a difficulty tier in the matchmaking portal.
