Overview
Grandmaster: The Lightblade is a Triumph in Destiny 2. It is earned by completing The Lightblade Nightfall on Grandmaster difficulty. It is one of the Grandmaster Nightfall triumphs that count toward the Conqueror seal.
The Lightblade is a Witch Queen strike in Savathûn's Throne World (the Temple of the Navigator). Its boss is Alak-Hul, the Lightblade. On higher difficulties it adds Barrier and Unstoppable Champions and two Barrier Knights at a time. The enemies mainly use Arc and Solar shields.
How to complete
- Queue the Lightblade Grandmaster Nightfall during its rotation slot. Grandmaster strikes are not matchmade.
- Bring Arc resistance and survivability mods. Arc resistance is recommended because the threat is Arc. Pick Surges that match the Arc damage on the route.
- Bring Arbalest for Barrier Champions. Wish-Ender also handles Champions well.
- Have one player with an Unstoppable mod. Shackle Grenades or Drengr's Lash can hold Unstoppable Champions in place.
- Alak-Hul becomes immune at two thirds and one third health. Each time, a Lucent Hive wave spawns. Clear it and crush the Ghosts to make him vulnerable again.
- Shift the baiter between the right platform (3) and the bottom platform (6) before each new wave spawns. Keep one Lightbearer Disciple alive on the first chunk.
- Collect Orbs of Light from the centre well for Super energy and health.
Tips
- Kill moths as soon as they appear.
- Retreat when a Lightbearer Knight uses its Super to avoid the shield throw.
- Do not die to clear Champions. A death costs more revive tokens than the Champions are worth.
