History of Guardian's Best Friend

Overview

Guardian's Best Friend is a Triumph in Destiny 2 from Season of the Seraph. It is one of the ten triumphs for the Seraph title, and you need nine of the ten. Completing it awards 5 score.

How to complete

The mechanical dog sits behind a hidden door in Operation: Seraph's Shield.

1. Complete Operation: Seraph's Shield and craft the Revision Zero pulse rifle. You also need the Security Clearance upgrade.
2. Destroy all 50 security drones: 12 on Europa, 12 on the Moon, six in each Heist Battleground, and 12 inside the mission.
3. Push through the mission to the spacewalk section. Past it, look left for a locked door in the room where you fight Haroktha. A terminal there shows each drone you have destroyed; once all 50 are counted, the door opens. Sources differ on whether the Ascendant Knight miniboss is in this room.
4. Pass the laser grid using Tactical Armour or a Sword with Eager Edge.
5. At the Access Console, shoot the symbols on the walls to unlock a transmat area. One panel is in a separate room.
6. Transmat to the Maintenance Substructure and follow the platforming route, including a jumping puzzle, to the dog.
7. Activate Good Boy Protocol when you first meet the dog. That grants this triumph. The dog then reappears on a blanket at the H.E.L.M., where activating the protocol again grants the separate "Yes, You Can Pet the Dog" triumph.
