Hack the Centaur

Overview

Hack the Centaur is a Triumph in Destiny 2 that asks you to collect all 7 secret chests in the Exotic mission Encore. It is part of the Intrepid triumph group.

How to complete

1. Complete any Encore variant. Difficulty does not matter.
2. Finish the NES007 specimen quest and get the Choir of One quest from Banshee-44 in the Tower.
3. Open chest 1 first. Chests 2 to 7 need chest 1 opened.
4. Collect the remaining chests. Each chest is in a Vex room, usually before a boss or a Vex puzzle:

• Chest 1 (Overture): In the purple room before the first Vex Node puzzle, head left to a chamber with dormant portals. Destroy the Vex cube with a smaller cube beneath it, repeating until a second set spawns, then break that set.
• Chest 2 (Overture): Before the Subjugator and Tormentor boss duo. In the Vex Piston room, activate the pillar, go through the portals and shoot five plates within 90 seconds.
• Chest 3 (Concerto): In the Vex Piston room before the Dread boss duo. Go through the portal and out the one across from it. Deposit Minotaur modules into the portal plates until its HP drops by 33 percent.
• Chest 4 (Coda): Before the boss duo. Break the Vex Piston, take the left portal outside, activate the pillar and kill three Minotaurs within 90 seconds. Rockets or grenades help.
• Chest 5 (Overture): In Maya's Lab before the Choral Mind. Use the portal map in the small room to reach the two Activate Modules, then destroy all five capsules.
• Chest 6 (Concerto): In Maya's Lab before the final boss. Take the left exit into the tunnel, collect red, yellow and blue modules from Minotaurs and deposit each on its matching plate.
• Chest 7 (Coda): In Maya's Lab through the portal into the square cavern. Kill adds until a green Vex Node and an Arc Cranium spawn, ricochet the arc across the slanted walls, then deposit the second green node.

Tip: Run one Encore variant at a time and do the chests in order, since the later ones need the first. Overture and Concerto have the same chest layout, with the new variant adding more portals.

Rewards

Each chest gives its own reward: seasonal gear, the Command Frame II, Command Frame III and Command Frame IV intrinsic upgrades, and several retrofit upgrades. The triumph itself has no score listed.
