Hawkmoon Catalyst

Overview

The Hawkmoon Catalyst is a Triumph in Destiny 2 for the hand cannon Hawkmoon. It requires the player to defeat 700 targets with Hawkmoon. Completing this triumph awards 50 Triumph points.

Acquisition

The catalyst was originally a reward from the Harbinger quest. Current guides (2026) say it now drops at random from completing Strike, Crucible or Gambit playlist activities once Hawkmoon is in your collection.

How to complete

1. Equip the catalyst on Hawkmoon.
2. Defeat 700 targets using Hawkmoon. Only kills made with Hawkmoon itself count.
3. A tracker on the weapon shows the count.

Endless enemy spawns are the most practical place to farm the kills. The Shuro Chi checkpoint in Last Wish, the Thrallway checkpoint in Shattered Throne and the opening section of Grasp of Avarice are commonly used.

Catalyst effects

The catalyst upgrades Hawkmoon to a masterwork, generates Orbs of Power on multikills and adds a kill tracker. It also grants the Hunter's Trance perk, which increases magazine size (to 9 per one guide) and boosts handling, reload speed and range based on the number of Paracausal Charge stacks.
