History of Higher Voltage

Overview

Higher Voltage is the exotic catalyst quest for the Centrifuse Auto Rifle, given by Banshee-44 in the Tower. Centrifuse is an Arc exotic released in Season of the Deep; the destinygamewiki lists the quest as Season 21 content. It is three steps and takes a few hours of ordinary play, since progress comes from Vanguard Operations, Gambit, Crucible and seasonal activities.

Walkthrough

1. Rebuild the catalyst. Rapidly defeat 20 targets (kills in quick succession) and get 40 targets defeated with Arc final blows. Any Arc weapon or ability counts; use Centrifuse itself or an Arc subclass.
2. Calibrate data and defeat targets while using Centrifuse. Generate 200 calibration data and defeat 450 targets. Calibration is earned by completing Vanguard Operations, Gambit and Crucible matches and seasonal playlist activities; higher-tier Nightfalls and Crucible/Gambit wins give bonus progress. (Step text in-game mentions Os activities, a later-season rename of the seasonal playlist; the quest appears to have been re-tuned after launch.)
3. Return to Banshee-44 to receive the rebuilt catalyst.

After receiving it, the catalyst itself needs 700 kills with Centrifuse to unlock.

Rewards

• Centrifuse Catalyst, adding the Static Buildup perk: while Arc amplified, the weapon gradually gains Arc overcharge.
