IV: Scattercape

Overview

IV: Scattercape is a lore triumph in Destiny 2 for chapter IV of the lore book Achilles Weaves a Cocoon. The book was added in Season of the Splicer (May 2021) and is told from the Eliksni side.

The chapter is written in the third person and follows Namrask, an Eliksni who is wounded by a Guardian's rifle while his group hides in the ice on Europa. He warns the others to hide, then gathers scattercloth capes and stitches them into a blanket. He kicks up steam to cover the group's escape, then crawls toward the Guardian under the blanket, showing himself now and then to draw its attention.

As the Guardian closes in, Namrask reflects on humans and on an old order to burn their worlds. Just as the Guardian tests the ice beside him, Yriks fires on it and draws its aim away, saving his life. The Guardian pursues her in a vehicle, and Namrask never sees her again.
