Iron Banner Supremacy

Iron Banner Supremacy is a historical Iron Banner playlist variant based on Supremacy, a Crucible crest-collection mode. It was available as a rotating Iron Banner activity before evolving into Iron Banner: Tribute, which adds beacon-based deposit mechanics.

Overview

Iron Banner Supremacy follows the Supremacy format: defeat opponents and collect the crests they drop to score points. The first team to reach 150 points wins, or the team with the highest score when the ten-minute time limit expires. Lord Saladin's quote—"A Guardian's crest represents the lineage and combat techniques of her class. Hold onto yours and take them from your opponents"—reflects the mode's emphasis on both killing and crest management.

Gameplay Mechanics

When a Guardian is defeated, they drop a crest. Eliminating an opponent awards 1 point; collecting that enemy's crest grants an additional point, for a maximum of 2 points per kill. Collecting a fallen teammate's crest scores no points but denies opponents points they would otherwise earn. This creates a strategic tension: rushing to collect crests leaves players exposed, while hanging back allows enemies to accumulate unchallenged points.

Iron Banner Supremacy matches disable Power Level advantages, placing victory squarely on gunplay, positioning, and team coordination. Players must balance aggressive kill-seeking with crest collection and defense of their own fallen teammates.

Relationship to Iron Banner: Tribute

The successor variant, Iron Banner: Tribute, adds Cabal Beacons to the crest formula. In Tribute, players still collect crests but must deliver them to designated beacon stations to score points, adding an objective layer to Supremacy's elimination focus. A high-value central beacon spawns mid-match with turret defenses and increased crest value, forcing teams to commit resources to beacon control.

Rewards

Iron Banner Supremacy rewards follow the standard Iron Banner drop list: exclusive weapons (hand cannons, pulse rifles, machine guns, trace rifles) and armor pieces with high stat totals. Participation grants Iron Banner rank progress toward Lord Saladin's reputation; reaching Legend rank resets the rank and unlocks Masterwork upgrade materials.
