Jynx

Overview

Jynx is a lore Triumph in Destiny 2, named for the Ghost Jynx of the Lucent Brood. It is the tenth and final entry of the Lucent Tales lore book, added with Destiny 2: The Witch Queen.

Background

Jynx first raised a Lightbearer of her own. The Hive killed themselves with a Shredder rather than face that outcome. Jynx then raised an Acolyte, assembling its body by hand before infusing it with her Light, and she resolved to keep doing this until the Hive accepted her.

Lore entry

In the entry, Jynx prepares the corpse of her Acolyte partner for revival in a Hive cathedral. The body is impaled on a spire, so she fusses over its arrangement, then activates her Light. The Acolyte returns to life but immediately attacks Jynx, knocks her down and kills herself with a Shredder. Jynx stares at the body for a while, then resets her efforts, saying she can keep this up as long as the Acolyte can, and hoping that eventually they will become best friends. The narration is third person, close to Jynx.

How to unlock

The Lucent Tales entries unlock by finding stuffed Lucent Moths across Savathûn's Throne World and returning them to a grotto near Fynch in the Quagmire.
