Kepler-186

Kepler-186 is the star system that the colony ship Exodus Black was originally bound for. The ship never reached it: the planetoid Nessus altered its orbit during the journey and forced a crash-landing on the planetoid instead.

Kepler-186 is a real red dwarf about 579 light-years away in the constellation Cygnus. Its outermost known planet, Kepler-186f, was the first Earth-sized planet found in its star's habitable zone. NASA's Kepler space telescope detected the system by the transit method, and the planet was confirmed in April 2014.

Lore

The game's item descriptions state that the ship was meant to colonize a world in the system with the aid of SIVA. Whether a SIVA cache was aboard, and what became of it, is not established in the game text.
