History of Latent Power

Overview

Latent Power is the meter on Turncoat, an Exotic Hand Cannon. Dealing damage fills it, and precision hits and final blows fill it faster. When it is full, the weapon can enter Unleashed Power.

Phases

• Unleashed Power: hold Alternate Weapon Action at full Latent Power. Rate of fire and hip-fire accuracy increase, and shots weaken targets.
• Overwhelming Power: after a short time, the weapon enters this phase, which damages you over time. Reloading or stowing the weapon ends it.

Power Surge

Turncoat's Power Surge trait charges the next shot into an explosive round after rapid hits. While empowered, every shot is explosive, and explosive hits speed up Latent Power buildup.

Catalyst

The Turncoat catalyst is obtained after reaching rank 90 on the Triumphant reward pass. Upgrading it grants Void Mastery, which gives a Void Overshield when empowerment ends. The Overshield's strength depends on how long you were empowered.
