History of Maeve's Key

Maeve's Key is an Exotic key from Season of the Deep that opens the chest Maeve left in the room across from Shaw Han in the Steppes, beneath the landing zone. The chest rewards the Tractor Cannon, an Exotic Shotgun. The key is claimed from Shaw Han in the Cosmodrome. The D2 Wiki says it is most likely given after completing the quest A Guardian Rises and the tutorial campaign, but it does not confirm this.
