Necrochasm Catalyst

Overview

Necrochasm Catalyst is a Triumph in Destiny 2. Its objective is to collect 35 Essence of the Oversoul from the Crota's End raid and its related triumphs. The essence is what unlocks the catalyst for the Necrochasm exotic auto rifle.

How to complete

1. Earn the Necrochasm first. Its quest starts with a free "Bottomless Pit" quest accepted from Crota's discarded sword in the Crota's End boss arena. Then get 100 Hive kills with the Husk of the Pit and collect 20 Essence of the Oversoul.
2. Clear Crota's End every week. The full clear is the most reliable source of essence, and encounters drop it occasionally.
3. Finish the unclaimed Crota's End triumphs first, since they give the most essence per run.
4. Essence counts retroactively: the 20 you spent on the weapon count toward the 35, so 15 more are needed for the triumph. Keep banking essence after the weapon is done.

Catalyst

The catalyst gives the One For Thrall perk: +35% weapon damage, plus boosts to range, handling and aim assist, for 10 seconds. The timer refreshes on every kill.

The catalyst originally granted the Outlaw perk, which greatly reduces reload time after precision kills. Patch 8.0.0.1 replaced it with One For Thrall.
