History of Nessus Orbit

Nessus Orbit is the orbit screen/space above Nessus, the Vex "Machine World" and Centaur minor planet. It is a launch point rather than a patrol space; ground activity is on Nessus.

Overview

Selecting Nessus in the Director and staying in orbit lets a Guardian launch Nessus activities (the in-game blurb is "Pleasure and delight await you"). Nessus's own patrol space, Lost Sectors and public events are covered on Nessus.

Activities launched from here

The Battlegrounds Behemoth and Oracle are set on Nessus (per Kyber's Corner), and the Vanguard Ops Playlist can queue them.

History

Calus's Leviathan once sat in Nessus's orbit after the Red War, having partially consumed Nessus's soil to make Royal Wine, and later returned as the Derelict Leviathan. During Season of Plunder (23 August to 6 December 2022), Destinypedia places the Themis Cluster asteroids near Nessus's orbit; they hosted that season's pirate activities such as Ketchcrash (see Pirate Ketch).

Notes

Sources describe the orbit only briefly; there are no vendors or NPCs in orbit itself.
