Royal Wine

Royal Wine is a thick, glistening purple liquid made by Calus from the soil of planetoids the Leviathan consumed, such as Nessus. The soil is mixed with psionic-enhancing spores from plants in Calus's Pleasure Gardens.

Nessus plan

The Invitation from the Emperor adventure on Nessus reveals the plan. Players download Vex data from two confluxes, and the files show that the Cabal intend to reduce Nessus to dust and prime their ship to consume the planet. The adventure also reveals a method for processing Nessus soil, with "Royal Nectar" as an ingredient, into Royal Wine.

Uses

Calus drank Royal Wine for its psionic benefits. Later, when Katabasis found him, he was kept alive by a support system that pumped the wine into his body. Excess wine solidified into dark purple crystals, which Calus used as obstacles in the Menagerie.
