History of Nightmare Containment

Overview

Seasonal public-event style activity from Season of the Haunted, found in the Castellum on the Derelict Leviathan (also launchable from the Director). Plant the Nightmare Harvester at the red marker to draw out Nightmares and bind them.

Mechanics

Three tiers: tiers 1 and 2 have four phases of Scorn and Cabal enemies, Shards of Dread and yellow-bar Dread Bearers that drop Cores of Dread, which spawn a Scythe at the Harvester; a shielded mini-boss needs Resonant Splinters destroyed. Tier 3 is a rotating boss (e.g. Nightmare of Elykris, Nightmare of Anaphex) with six splinters and Emissaries. Activating the Harvester at the end costs 500 Vestiges of Dread.

Rewards

Seasonal weapons and armor (e.g. Tears of Contrition, Nezarec's Whisper), Opulent Keys, Vestiges of Dread. Destinypedia gives no sunset note; as a seasonal activity it is tied to Season of the Haunted (2023).
